JRE suse x64 and firefox error

suse 9.2 x64
java jre-1_5_0_02-linux-i586.rpm
firefox installed from rpm 1.0.2

java -version appears as follows:
java version "1.5.0_02"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_02-b09)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_02-b09, mixed mode, sharing)

i cant seem to get this to work. i have installed the x64 rpm for jre 'jre1.5.0_02' and have linked the lobjavaplugin_oji.so to firefox and i still can not see java aplets in my web browser.
i have enabled java in firefox under preferences and i do not see java listed as an extension in about:plugins

i have followed this http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/sho...9&postcount=12 for directions on how to get java to work with firefox. it is fedora based and a little old, but overall pointed me in the right direction.

when i run firefox from a cli i get this:
Code:
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/java/jre1.5.0_02/plugin/i386/ns7-gcc29/libjavaplugin_oji.so [/usr/java/jre1.5.0_02/plugin/i386/ns7-gcc29/libjavaplugin_oji.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory]

earth:~ # firefox

I think there are two plugins available? The one that you are using "/usr/java/jre1.5.0_02/plugin/i386/ns7-gcc29/libjavaplugin_oji.so" and one that should be "/usr/java/jre1.5.0_02/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so" or something similar to it. Try linking the other plugin instead and see if that helps

I have also had problems with that Java version on Firefox. The one before that works a treat though. Can you get hold of jre-1_5_0_01-linux-i586.bin ? If not PM me.
