how to configure monitor geometry


hello, I have SUSE 9.1 installed on my computer, when I first installed it I never configured my monitors geometry, I didnt know but now I would like to know if someone could tell me how I do this, and explain to me what monitor geometry means? Also how do I know what my monitors geometry is?
