i have xgl compiz running but i want to change the skydome from black to a picture.

so i don't know what to edit
i can't find the directory that contains gconf.
i looked over opensuse.org instructions on how to configure my xgl compiz desktop
but i don't follow where it says to go to /apps directory
i don't have that

could someone help me?

I guess it would help if I knew what skydome was but I'd find, dl and instll gset-compiz and see if that provided the options required (which it probably does).

set up is done in the gnome configuration editor menu - configuration - gnome configuration editor

click on apps in tree, compiz - plugins - cube - screen0 - options then check the skydome option. There are other options here too. For example if you click on the images line, it tells you where the image is loaded for the top of the cube. You can add your own to this directory then right click on the default image in the configuration editor and add your own file name.

No from terminal run gconf-editor. I don't know if it's installed as default with a kde setup, just install through yast if not.
