err=2


hey i tried to make a bootdisk to install slackware (i386) i tried the bare.i bzImage but i just got "err=2 invalid compressed format"

what should i do?

You tried how? bare.i is an image of a bootdisk, not a kernel.

From linux:

dd if=bare.i of=/dev/fd0

or

cat bare.i > /dev/fd0

From windows, use rawrite.

um i have windows xp so rawrite doesnt work, although i have rawrite. it didnt work too good so could you walk me through it?

use rawritent for winXP
