You know that in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules all modules installed on the system are shown. When you recompile kernel modules change. Is there some way to refresh modules in rc.modules with the new ones?
Well, perhaps another here will know a better answer. But to my knowledge the rc.modules is not auto-generated or updated. I think it is a manually created and maintained script file. The vast majority of the file is remarked out. If allowed to execute the original and native file will build the module dependicies file and makes a call to execute rc.netdevices to load any network modules required.
