I'm trying to enable SSL on my system, but unfortunately i'm having two problems.
Firstly, i cant quite get my host right, i've added in my /etc/hosts file
162.168.0.3 xushi.co.uk
but i don't think that's the correct syntax (it is for windows,)
Secondly, i keep getting a weird error when i start apache
apachectl startssl
[Tue Sep 21 14:58:06 2004] [error] VirtualHost *:80 -- mixing * ports and non-* ports with a NameVirtualHost address is not supported, proceeding with undefined results
[Tue Sep 21 14:58:06 2004] [error] VirtualHost *:443 -- mixing * ports and non-* ports with a NameVirtualHost address is not supported, proceeding with undefined results
here are my virtualhosts configs
in /etc/apache2/httpd.conf
Code:
<VirtualHost *:80>
DocumentRoot /var/www/htdocs
ServerName www.xushi.co.uk
ServerAdmin xushi@xushi.co.uk
ServerAlias xushi.co.uk
</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost *>
ServerAdmin webmaster@kolba.co.uk
DocumentRoot /home/kolba.co.uk/htdocs
ServerName www.kolba.co.uk
ServerAlias kolba.co.uk
ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/kolba.co.uk-error_log
CustomLog /var/log/apache2/kolba.co.uk-access_log common
</VirtualHost>
in /etc/apache2/ssl.conf
Code:
<VirtualHost *:443>
# General setup for the virtual host
DocumentRoot "/var/www/htdocs"
ServerName www.xushi.co.uk:443
ServerAdmin xushi.co.ukm
ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/error_log
TransferLog /var/log/apache2/access_log
Any ideas? Thanks.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, what i want is this
http://xushi.co.uk (on port 80) --> /var/www/htdocs/ (normal)
https://xushi.co.uk (port 443) --> /var/www/htdocs/ (with ssl)
http://kolba.co.uk (port 80) --> /home/kolba.co.uk/
And i do have a Static ip address btw.
