KDE 4.3 on Slackware 13.0

The title says it all. Are there (or will there be in the near future) any KDE 4.3 builds for Slackware 13.0?

I'll bet 13.1 in another 6 or so months will have it. Possibly -current in a couple of months.

Stable branches receive only security updates so most likely not.

Thanks! I guess I'll wait until 13.1 to try Slackware again then (last time I tried was in the 11.0 days I think, and it's not a distro one casually flirts with if I recall, so I've got to be ready for at least a short-term marriage

).

Why not try it now? KDE 4.2.4 is working without problems and 13 is a very good system. When 4.3 is ready for Slack, it will not be that difficult to install it on your system, current or stable. I think we will have more services running, more open doors, more protocols to configure and more logs to troubleshoot with 4.3.

Good news everyone...

I found that bluewhite64 (a slackware based distro) has KDE 4.3, so i grabbed the buildscripts from
their servers

and merged them somewhat into the slackware64-current kde buildscripts

Here you can download the SlackBuilds, they even work for the brandnew KDE 4.3.1

sorry hotchili, I just checked the slackbuilds and I've found no sign of policykit: does kde 4.3 works well without it?

So Policykit is a dependency of KDE 4.3?

As of yesterday, 1 September, if you want Kopete to work with Yahoo Messenger, you need KDE 4.3. We are not suppose make duplicate posts, so please see post #97, in the thread linked below:

I remember reading about a possible 4.2.5 release from KDE and hope they can port changes like that to 4.2 and release a patch or something. Only yesterday I saw that 4.3.1 is out. Reading the release announcement I was hooked to this:"...KDE 4.3.1 is a monthly update to KDE 4.3...". So, those who pretend install/build 4.3.latest will be doing it on a monthly basis? Missed that and also missed that 4.2 too was released on a monthly basis.

KDE 4.3.1 is now running fine on my Slack. Perhaps there are some flaws, but it's ok
