everytime I boot my machine /dev/cdrom points to /dev/hdd, my cdrw drive. It should point to /dev/hdc. Each time I log on I have to manually fix this. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem. I'm using the 2.6.8.1 kernel. If there is any information I can add that may help please let me know.
I had no idea what to search for, so thanks for that. I found this solution and it worked. As this seems to be a common problem I'm posting it here:
