a2ps: cannot find file `c0419bt_.afm': No such file or directory

I got that message when trying to run a2ps to convert a plaintext file to postscript. The file seems to be present at /usr/share/fonts/Type1/c0419bt_.afm, but a2ps still doesn't work. I have tried reinstalling a2ps just in case my installation was faulty, but it didn't fix the problem.

Just solved the problem. I put the following inside ~/.a2ps/a2psrc

Code:
AppendLibraryPath: /usr/share/fonts/Type1

This can also be added to /etc/a2ps-site.cfg (or /etc/a2ps.cfg, although this would likely be overwritten with a reinstall).

NOTE: I'm using slamd64 with:
a2ps-4.14-x86_64_slamd64-1
font-bitstream-type1-1.0.0-noarch_slamd64-1:usr/share/fonts/Type1/c0419bt_.afm

rg3, was this on -current? The /etc/a2ps.cfg on my 64-current system already has /usr/share/fonts/Type1 in the LibraryPath.

Yes, this was on -current and was fixed some days later in the next a2ps upgrade. Editing the user config file is no longer required, as the system config file has all the needed lines now.
