RH9 User Manager Problem

I originally posted this in the newbie forum but this one seems more appropriate.

I'm having problems starting Users and Groups.

redhat-config-users

I get the following error message:

WARNING The User Database cannot be read. Program will exit now.

FYI I've been using Linux for one whole week now. So sorry if this is something very simple that I have overlooked.

Do I need to start the User Database somehow?

its alright. I discovered the problem. Apparently its some known issue with enabling shadow passwords.

In Authentication I did have shadow passwords enabled so I disabled it and enabled it again and now users and groups work.
