Mandrake 9 won't start!

I'm sorry if I put this in the wrong forum. Hey, I'm a noob.

I just got Mandrake 9 working with a dual boot to XP, but now, Mandrake won't login.

I get a "nspluginscan" error along with something about a "signal 11."

Can anyone help?

did you manually delete some kde files or something?
still shouldnt prevent it from logging in. Are you trying to login on a graphical login manager?

could you be more specific about exactly whats happeing and excatly what the error message is?

The first error:

The application nspluginscan crashed and caused the signal 11(SIGSEGV)

After closing that, another error appears:

There was an error setting up inter-process comunicatons for KDE. The message returned by the system was

cound not read connection list
/home/hardcore/.DCOPServer_hardcore/bgfg_0

Please check that the dcopserver program is running!

What happens if you try to login and start kde as root?

you could try removing the nsplugin rpm: (kde seems to start fine without it)

"rpm -e kdebase-nsplugins-3.0.5a-1.1mdk"

And that will determine if the nsplugin is the real problem.

Dont forget theres always gnome2, if you actually need the glacial sloth and heavy handedly overdone interface of kde

Nope. Even as root, the error persists. I'm going to try a reinstall probably tomorrow, see if that fixes the issue.
