I have Red Hat 8.0 running on my Toshiba Satellite 2045. I only ran into a few minor problems and since my model is more current then yours I don't see why it is not working. How did you get the Red Hat cd's? Did you download the ISO's or did you buy the disks? Maybe you have some sort of corruption on one of your images.

OK, I had exactly the same problem with redhat 8 and my Satellite 1110 Z14. When you put the cd in and grub comes up, you need to use the command:
"linux nopcmcia nousb"

This is the only way that ive been able to get it to install. After its all installed, you need to boot into single user mode and turn off pcmcia. Im still working on compiling working pcmcia support into it but will post back here with what i find out.

So how do you turn off PCMCIA in single mode? I tried moving the S24pcmcia files out of etc/rc?.d; is there a better way? Also, is there some way to get USB storage devices to work after that "nousb" installation option?
