Good debian repositories

Hey im a bit sick of googling everytime I want a new package so i was wondering if anyone knew any good repositories i could add to my list of apt-get able ones. Most of the ones i've found so far are very incomplete (as in have only one or two packages). Is there an official repository?

Cheers,
NNP

deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-free

deb http://security.debian.org/ sarge/updates main

# Marillat's Non-free
deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ sarge main
Yoiu shoul look at the sticky post where several people have posted sources.list

Well, the Debian's repositories do contain a quite massive amount of packages, so third-party repositories for Debian tend to be highly specialized.

There is basically only one I typically use in all desktop-oriented Debian installs, this one containing MPlayer packages: http://hpisi.nerim.net/

Thanks, sorry for not looking in the sources.list thread, i completely missed it.

My sources file now looks something like this
Code:
# deb file:///cdrom/ sarge main

# deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 r0 _Sarge_ - i386 Binary - Linux Format DVD 70]/ unstable contrib main

#official stable
deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main

#official testing
deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-free

#marillat
deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ etch main

#mplayer,acroread.various packages
deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ testing main
deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ unstable main

#java
deb ftp://ftp.tux.org/java/debian/ unstable non-free
deb ftp://sunsite.dk/mirrors/java-linux/debian/ testing non-free

#Debian KDE3.4 Team updates
deb http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/kde-3.4.0/ ./

#wine
deb http://wine.sourceforge.net/apt/ binary/
deb-src http://wine.sourceforge.net/apt/ source/
When i tried to upgrade my packages i got this warning though
Code:
debian:/etc/apt# apt-get upgrade
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libapache2-mod-php4: Depends: libzzip-0-12 (>= 0.12.83) but it is not installed
W: Couldn't stat source package list ftp://ftp.nerim.net testing/main Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.nerim.net_debian-marillat_dists_testing_main_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory)
W: Couldn't stat source package list ftp://ftp.nerim.net unstable/main Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.nerim.net_debian-marillat_dists_unstable_main_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory)
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.
Is there a known problem with that repository?

When i commented those out everything went fine

Thanks,,
NNP

Not to my knowledge, seems to be working fine for me. Try running apt-get update again.

Seems that there are 2 repositories that are basically the same:
you can't have ftp/nerim etch and testing. Unstable seems not to
work any longer. In fact marillat seems to have just one repository.

cheers

The Marillat sources no longer work with "stable" "testing" and "unstable" and now use names "sarge" "etch" and "sid". Try editing your sources.list file to read:

If you'd looked beyond the tip of your nose, you'd found this: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...e.list-330913/

In general it's considered "not done" by communities like this to kick a 2 yr old thread...
