I just deleted my trash icon off my desktop by mistake, I was trying to delete multiple files off of my desktop and deleted my trash as well. Is there a way that I can create a new icon or retrieve the old one?
You should try playing with the path to it in Control Centre, System Administration, Paths, or maybe create a new folder Trash in your desktop directory. I don't know, just ideas.
open your home directory and click on the "Desktop" icon (/home/zhuangshi/Desktop)
drag the trash icon from the "Desktop" directory to the desktop,
select "copy here" from the pop up menu...
upon further review,
the suggestion in my previous post probably will not work.
since the trash icon was deleted off of the desktop, you will not see it in the "Desktop" directory
