KDE 3.4 login screen has changed

Upon upgrading my SuSE 9.2 PRO from standard KDE 3.3 to recently released KDE 3.4, the login window includes the last system messages from /var/log/messages.

How do I disable this to get my old login-screen back?

Thanks!

In the login window itself, it shows the usernames to the left (with image), then the login/password to the right, and below it all there's a 10-line window that shows the last messages from /var/log/messages. It wasn't there before I updated, but with KDE 3.4 it arrived. (I'm on standard SuSE 9.2 PRO)

I would also like to know how to get rid of the text. It doesn't look brilliant.
