Mount HFS Apple Hard Disk

I tried to use a Mac G4 HDD on my i686 linux box ( Mandrakelinux 10.1 )
That's what I get
Code:
[root@localhost youssef]# hmount /dev/hdd
/dev/hdd: contains 1 HFS partition
Volume name is "G4"
Volume was created on Thu Dec 31 23:36:35 1903
Volume was last modified on Sun Feb 20 21:39:01 2005
Volume has 0 bytes free
then

Code:
[root@localhost youssef]# hls
hls: Current HFS directory "G4::" no longer exists
hls: ":": read unallocated b*-tree node (Input/output error)
then

Code:
[root@localhost youssef]# hvol
Current volume is mounted from partition 1 of:
  /dev/hdd
hvol: Current HFS directory "G4::" no longer exists

Volume name is "G4"
Volume was created on Thu Dec 31 23:36:35 1903
Volume was last modified on Sun Feb 20 21:39:01 2005
Volume has 0 bytes free
then

Code:
[root@localhost youssef]# cd
[root@localhost ~]# cat .hcwd
0
G4 -2082844385 /dev/hdd 1 :

Can you help me ?
Does this mean the hard disk is damaged ?
Thank you
