rpms

g++ requires gcc to work. if i try to install gcc rpm package found via rpmseek it says package already installed if i try to install g++ it says it can't find gcc :x the same thing happens with k3b and k3b-mp3. i installed k3b and when i try to install k3b-mp3 it says that k3b is unlocatable.

before i formated last time my hd (2 days ago) everything used to work fine. any1 with the slightes idea what i'm doing wrong

Do you have the correct versions installed?

You could try rebuilding the rpm database:
rm -f /var/lib/rpm/_db*
rpm --rebuilddb

i executed both commands and nothing happened :-(

is there any other think i could do in order to make it work?

What distro are you running?

i'm on fedora core 3

If you use apt/synaptic, it will help you install the right version. There are two versions in Fedora's repository just select the gcc-c++ version that corresponds to your installed version of gcc.
