Don't really wanna open this subject again, but it would be cool + useful to have pictures beneth names.
cool => some can make you laugh
useful => when you reading treads with more answers you can faster locate your responses.
I wouldn't bug you, if I had not seen www.neowin.net, with same forum and this option. (neowin.net-- went too far with all the pictures, and colors) but a simple 50x50 picture shouldn't be a problem.
why not? because they are tacky and irritating... you say you didn't want to open the subject again.. but you blatantly DO want to. We've quite happily had no queries abuot it for the first 2 years or so of this place's life and now a handful of people seem to be determined to make the site look exactly the way they want (i.e. like all the other trashy, vulgar sites). Personally i'm somewhat reminded of that bit in the simpsons where bart and lisa want to go to itchy and scratchy land. see now homer says no, and they keep asking again and again. homer asks if they are ever going to stop asking because if they won't then he may as well just given in at the start. but... it's not gonna happen here. sorry.
Thats what kids do best - reason i don't have any. And they wont stop either - everything has to look like a comicbook or a coool movie these days.
BTW - good thing you wont allow it; have no idea how to make a 3d videoclip
Originally posted by jeremy As I have said before, you will not see avatars at LinuxQuestions. Sorry, but I just do not like them and think they detract from the site.
Probably cause he's root and its his site and he can do anything he wants.
So its really pointless to keep bringing up avatars and why you can't use them.
Its like a child in a store asking for some candy, parent says no, they keep nagging parent for candy. Lets not act like children, Jeremy has mentioned that avatars will never most likely be on the site, lets leave it at that. The more its mentioned though, the more it irritates Mods and I am sure Jeremy, as the final word as been said which was a big NO.

All I should need to say is... WOO HOO! homer style!
