Some where during the Slackware installation you were asked to
install lilo. You should have done this. It is to be installed in the MBR.

Since you obviously have net access from anther box, I would start here .

(This isn't just an RTFM, honest! Knowing how to use the bootloader correctly is essential if your box ever goes belly up...)

Sorry I'm having trouble understanding you.

Have you just done a fresh install of Slack?
If this is so, when you boot, you should be presented with a
red lilo prompt. Just press enter.

You didn't say how big your hard drive is.
Perhaps you would do best to boot off your Fedora disk
and let the install partition your disk for you. Then quit the install
and boot the Slack install disk.

When Slack install gives you the boot prompt, just hit enter.
It will boot and then ask for a login, type root
Then type setup and follow the instructions.

Well try this,

boot Slackware disk 1

When it says "boot" type:

bare.i root=/dev/hda1 noinitrd ro

If that boots the machine, try to log in as root with the password you gave
during the install process.
