Mozilla Plugins

Where can I get the folowing plugins:

Real Audio/Video
Windows Media Audio
Windows Media Video
Adobe PDF Files
Java
Cult 3D
QuickTime Audio
QuickTime Streaming Video

I have the Shockwave Flash plugin, but it wouldn't install, keeps saying "This is not a valid directory".
I know where to put the *.so plugins (/usr/lib/mozilla-1.0.1/plugins/)

NM about the Shockwave plugin. I decided I didn't need to run the installer, but instead just copy/paste the .so file to the plugins dir. (lol)

In Mozilla click on Help and About-Plugins.
At the top is a link http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/

That is where I went to install my media player, flash and java. Make sure you read the install docs. It took me a couple of tries to finally sus it out. Trust me if I can do it then anyone could do it.

Cheers ALdehde

Mozilla Plugin's

/usr/lib/mozilla-1.0.1/plugins/) ?

woaw .. it's an old version of mozilla.. I actually use mozilla 1.6 with a lot of plugin's :

Java(TM) Plug-in 1.5.0-beta2-b51

Nom de fichier : libjavaplugin_oji.so
Java(TM) Plug-in 1.5.0

Shockwave Flash

Nom de fichier : libflashplayer.so
Shockwave Flash 7.0 r25

Adobe SVG Viewer plug-in version 3.01x88

Nom de fichier : libNPSVG3.so
Enables viewing files in W3C Scalable Vector Graphics format

nppdf.so

Nom de fichier : nppdf.so

mplayerplug-in v1.0pre2 handles QuickTime Windows Media Player Plugin

Nom de fichier : mplayerplug-in.so
Video Player Plug-in for QuickTime and Windows Media Player streams using mplayer

Default Plugin

Nom de fichier : libnullplugin.so
The default plugin handles plugin data for mimetypes and extensions that are not specified and facilitates downloading of new plugins.

rpnp.so (RealPlayer)

Nom de fichier : rpnp.so

The java plugin come with the Sun JAVA JRE from www.java.com or www.sun.com (1.5 is a beta version, take the stable with 1.4.5)
The shockwave is from the Macromedia site
The PDF plugin can be downloaded from www.adobe.com

I put a link to each of the plugin part for each program is the /usr/lib/mozilla-1.6/plugins like this :

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 48 jui 2 20:38 nppdf.so -> /usr/local/Acrobat5/Browsers/intellinux/nppdf.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 39 jun 21 07:53 raclass.zip -> /usr/local/netscape/plugins/raclass.zip

Cool

I just installed the Sun java (JRE) 1.4.2_05 plugin for mozilla 1.4.2. See the link to Sun at http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/linux.html, and READ THE FAQ!

I found the FAQ to be not quite accurate. It says that Mozilla 1.4 and later are built with gcc 3.x, but about:buildconfig says that Mozilla 1.4.2 is still gcc 2.96. So, don't link the JRE version ns610-gcc32 as instructed; link JRE ns610. If your Mozilla is even older than 1.4, perhaps an upgrade is in order.

Also, if you install the .rpm package from Sun, don't do it from a samba-mounted drive. I found that it didn't work - Mozilla died instantly without message. Uninstalling, copying the package to my Linux home directory, and reinstalling the .rpm fixed this.

Good luck!
