Not sure if this helps, but worth a shot maybe?
I got this from

For customers using Linux* who are interested in using RAID Technology on Intel® ICH5R and ICH6R chipsets, a Linux kernel 2.4 patch is available. The driver works in conjunction with the Intel® RAID Option ROM distributed with ICH5R/ICH6R chipsets. It understands RAID volumes created with the option ROM or within Windows*, and allows booting of Linux to these volumes. It is particularly useful when there is a need for compatibility with other operating systems using those RAID volumes.
This driver and documentation is available at
http://iswraid.sourceforge.net/ † or
http://sourceforge.net/projects/iswraid †.
Please note that this driver does not contain all of the functionality provided by Intel® Application Accelerator; please read the documentation carefully to determine if it will meet your needs. Also note that this patch supports 2.4 kernels only at this time.
The information contained on this page is only mentioned here as a courtesy by Intel as an alternative proposal for interested parties. Because Linux distribution vendors can incorporate the iswraid driver as they see appropriate, Intel cannot be responsible in any way for the content or operation of these drivers and does not provide any warranty or guarantee of any kind with respect to their usability, suitability or performance for any application. Please contact your Linux distribution vendor directly with questions or for more information. You should contact your Linux distribution vendor for support.
