giFT is a p2p application native for linux that has a plugin for the fastrack network (what kazaa uses); find it on sourceforge.net
also, here is a link to getting windows kazaa to run on wine (it uses kazaa lite, so search online for a recent version of kazaa lite; it may be hard to find as it has been shutdown by sharman networks)

Oh yeah... we all know there is a direct correlation between quality and popularity. Just look at windoze :P
Granted, I'm not crazy about Limewire (due mostly to wierd java problems that keep it from closing when i tell it to, and having to manually kill the process) but it works, and has no shortage of downloads. If you can get gIFT running and Fast Track enabled, then try it. I couldnt get it to run right.
I read the entire thread sometime back...downloaded LimeWire and after a slight issue with the PATH, installed it without a hassle....so far, it looks cool...downloaded couple of songs..and I feel the time taken was lesser than what Kazaa would have taken for the same file......The best thing is that stability hasn't been compromised even when apps similar to windows are being developed for linux..Kazaa on the other hand has crashed my Windows many times...
I'd like to know how others feel about LimeWire...
