Types of fsck errors


Can anybody tell me what kind of fsck errors are found on a system?

This sounds like a "Homework" question to me. If this is the case, you need to do the research yourself, and not expect us to do it for you: You will not learn anything that way.

If it's not a homework question, please post specific details of the problem you are encountering.

What kind of homework am I supposed to do on this? In an interview, I was asked what kind of fsck errors do an admin encounter, for which I was not sure coz I did not encounter any such errors. I did my homework before entering this community. Thought someone might be helpful enough

There must be hundreds of fsck errors, from corrupt super blocks to gone-awol inodes.

Best advice is to reasearch (another word for "homework" in any walk of life).

A quick google search for "fsck errors" gave me the answer I would be looking for, at #1.

@scottn: Thanks for the reply. But, in the link, it says that the errors are for Solaris host. I am looking for errors w.r.t RHEL 5.
