The situation is I removed the ADSL card from my desktop as I have no use for it for the moment. I am guessing that the motherboard is still trying to detect the Sangoma ADSL card. What is the best way to resolve this problem, uninstall the drivers for the ADSL card or change the settings in the system configuration files?

The system is not affected by this removal, just get prompted regularly about this error as configured in the kerneloops client.

The error is being flagged from libata-sff.c, which is part of the hard drive controller. Depending on which kernel you have, it is either SATA only or both SATA and PATA. But, just to be sure, put your ADSL controller back in to see if that affects the error. You might list which kernel version and which Debian you're running in case that is helpful to someone.

Ya, the issue seems to be with the ADSL card as it continues to search for this. The Debian version is under my username. Would it be possible to just delete this error message in the the varlog to stop it repeating the error alert?

The kerneloops failure issue seems to have resolved itself after a few weeks as either the error log file was cleared but not exactly too sure why, so if anybody has any suggestions please leave a message.
