PCMCIA problem

Hey everybody!
I am familiar with fedora 8 running on my HP500 laptop,But a problem blocks me these days when I want to use a serial modem card(PCMCIA) to make a connection.

When I insert the card,"dmesg" shows these messages:
[root@Aleks ~]# dmesg|grep pcmcia

[root@Aleks ~]# dmesg|grep tty
[ 0.000999] console [tty0] enabled
However,it seems there is no other "tty" devices except the console(tty0),where can i find it ?

That's all,Thanks for all feedback and help

CDMA so this looks like a cellular broadband modem ? what card is this exactly ?

Typically you can search for the card name and Linux and find a how to for most of these. I know I have seen how-tos for the Verizon Aircard, etc..
