Arrow Password problem with clock applet Debian 4.0

I installed Debian 4.0 and everything works except for the clock applet. When I try to change the time it says wrong password. Everywhere else my password works. I tried a reinstall with no luck.

You need to be root to modify the clock, so it isn't asking for your password, but rather the root password.

Peace,

You can't adjust the clock without root permissions. If you installed without root but with sudo, you need to change the way your GUI (gnome, kde, whatever) is calling for permissions. If you did install with a root account, you have to use its password. Just because you have sudo doesn't mean for certain that there is no root.

Peace,

Thanks for the information. I went into accounts root and set password and that worked. I did not think I had a root account as I never set one up.
