A good Linux file manager...
....is this an oxymoron ?
Nautilus is far too bloated.
Worker is quite good, but pays no regard whatsoever to aesthetics.
Gnome commander crashes in my experience.
ROX is too thin.
Midnight commander is a dinosaur.
The best one I have seen is Gentoo, but it also is a bit functional.
(I have never used Thunar, so don't know).
The best file manager was winfile.exe (better than Windows Explorer) on Windows95. It was simple, fast, took up very little memory, looked okay and did 95% of what you might want from a file manager.
Is there a good Linux file manager ?
