Angry SUSE Linux 10.2: reset KDE menu bar to default

Hi,

I've run into a couple of problems with SUSE Linux 10.2.

1) KDE Menu editor -- I've been successful installing SUSE Linux 10.2, however on customizing my menu through the Menu Editor, I've fat-fingered the edit and lost every submenu under the System menu. Does anyone know how I can restore my menu to it's default settings?

2) After the install of SUSE 10.2, I've tried to start the YaST GUI, only to get the default ncurses version of YaST. I've tried to resolve this issue by installing the Qt GUI (latest version) because that was the error message when I started YaST (yast2) from the command line. It complains about the Qt GUI being, "not found".

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

NDH

To reset the KDE menu rename or delete the file
~/.config/menus/applications-kmenuedit.menu then restart KDE or run:

dcop kicker kicker restart

Check out the KDE wiki, they have a lot of useful information there.

No problem.

Glad you got the menu sorted out, i've ran across that problem a few times.
Sorry i couldn't help with the Yast issue though, i haven't used Suse as of late.
