You could do the following things.
a. Check the media you are installing Fedora from. Using the first CD, boot into it. At the boot:_ prompt, type, linux mediacheck and check all installable CD's.
b. You can try a LIVE CD Distro, such as knoppix, and download it from the ISO section of LQ.
If your hardware seems to be detected perfectly by Knoppix or Ubuntu or Kubuntu, try installing Ubuntu or Kubuntu. Or wait a few days for Fedora Core 6
