I want to install DSL on a spare machine however I have no CD Burner available. Can I load the 50MB ISO image I have on a USB thumb drive and boot from this? I don't know if I need a specific ISO version to boot from USB or if all ISO of DSL will boot from USB.
I am downloading the image from here and it is the "current" folder.
(i think my bios is new enough)
amways, on my desktop i get the dsl splash-screen and it starts to boot with a green progress bar then it goes black and my moniter goes on standby.
on my dell laptop i get the dsl splash-screen i hit enter to boot but all i get is a black screen and the keyboard doesnt respond. none of the boot options seem to work.
The green bar is the hardware detection. There is something causing a conflict, and it is probally your video cards. Post your system specs and mabey omeone can help you more
if you get to run level 5 and then the screen is messed up or black...try at boot: dsl xsetup or dsl vga=normal dsl xsetup...then answer the xsetup prompts...hope it helps
