If you have a record of your partition table, with partition details like the size of each and the filing system type, you can reconstruct it from scractch using cfdisk program in Linux, say booted from a LiveCD, without any loss of data if the hard disk has not be written to.
If you have no partition table record then may God has mercy on your disk. However there are Linux users disagree with God and created software to recover the partition table by assembling the filing indices. Do a serach on "testdisk" or "WPARTNFIX". There are others too but the above seems to answer similar needs whenever I proposed to the troubled users. It is a DOS program that digs deep into your Disk to assemble the partition back for you.
