[newbie] why [debian distro cdimage mirrors] iso-cd has 8 while list-cd has 80?

Index of /debian-cd/current/i386/list-cd
has CD -1 thru -80 but .../iso-cd
has only 8 cds. Why? (similarly 3 vs 13 dvd)

Is it [simply] because: CD -9 thru 80 (approx) .iso's
are *only* provided in jigdo? (dl not 'reasonably' needed)

Is this [explicitly] documented somewhere [I missed]?
Thanks!

p.s. maybe https://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/ is implying this:

The first CD/DVD disk contains all the files necessary to install a standard Debian system.
To avoid needless downloads, please do not download other CD or DVD image files unless you know that you need packages on them.

I noticed e.g.
(from https://www.debian.org/CD/jigdo-cd
"Search Contents of CD images
Which CD/DVD image contains a certain file? Below, you can search the lists of files contained in a wide variety of Debian CD/DVD images...." )

that inix is on cd 18 / dvd 3
which makes sense, since about 6+ cds = about 1 dvd

(I even found a 45GB http://ftp1.ca.debian.org/debian-cd/.../i386/iso-dlbd dbl-layer-BluRay .iso wow!
No, I won't spend 45,000 minutes downloading it on my slow internet, LOL)

Do you mean http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/.../i386/list-cd/ ?

It is not 80 isos. It is 80 lists of what is on 8 isos.

If you are installing from CD then generally only CD1 is needed.

The net install is OK.

Keep in mind the netinst will only provide a DE\WM if you have internet hooked up. Though you may need non-free firmware for that?

I installed Debian from 1 install CD, which I purchased here.
https://www.osdisc.com/products/linux/debian
I would suggest a wired internet connection during the install, if that is possible as that will enable you to get any missing firmware you might need.
