SSH and Nemo

I don't know if this is a Linux Mint problem or a Debian problem. I use Mint as a desktop but I just installed a standard no GUI edition of Debian for my media server. I was going to use the Mint file browser Nemo to connect to the Debian server so it would be easier to copy files to and from but when I enter all the credintials into the connection box and click connect I get this error -> Host key verification failed
I've always been able to connect to other systems through Nemo before, any ideas on what's going on? Thanks.

Do you use the fish protocol with Nemo? That's what I use on Konqueror along with openssh/sftp server-client packages.

I have no idea what that is. I just clicked on 'connect to server' and selected SSH as my connection or protocol type. It has always worked in the past but now it isn't for whatever reason. Could you give me some package names so I cold try downloading them to see if it helps? Thanks.

I assume that you used the same IP address or hostname previously and the the new key does not match what is currently in your ~/.ssh/known_hosts file. This is due to the StrictHostKeyChecking=yes directive in your ssh_config file. You can remove the old key with the following command.

ssh-keygen -R hostname

There are other options i.e you can disable strict host checking but the above should work.

I just put this address fish://jdkaye@charlie/home/jdkaye into the navigation bar of Konqueror (charlie is the name of one of my laptops) and I get prompted for jdkaye's password and that's it. charlie is the name assigned to the internal ip 192.168.1.65 of my home network.

As for packages, you'd need at least openssh-server, openssh-client and openssh-sftp-server if you don't have them already.

michaelk I'm assuming I need to run that command on the Debian box, is that right?
