Error while installing tcsh on server...

HI All,
I am getting an error while installing the tcsh shell on one of my aix servers.

rpm -i tcsh-6.18.01-2.aix5.1.ppc.rpm

failed to open /opt/freeware/packages/packages.rpm: A file or directory in the path name does not exist. error: cannot open /opt/freeware/packages/packages.rpm

Can someone tell what is the issue here?

Are you running this command as the root user?

Which AIX version are you using?

Try running '/usr/sbin/updtvpkg'. This regenerates the virtual RPM package that lists all the regular packages (eg installed via installp) and it will update that file.
