since no one else dared: iPhone

with Sierra OS you can compile hello world on your iMac and it runs on your iPhone in 2 seconds or less, leaves the icon there so you can use it

macports can install GNU stuff and other fluff (ie, tradcpp) in less than 2 seconds: that's dl, compile, install

you can link to voice command instead of international programming bugs and do it with script instead of library linkage C code si vu plea.

Sierra does have problems though: it's BSD is not full freeBSD, they took out the X from OS/X (for a reason), and it's difficult to dual boot a machine to linux (though i'd HIGHLY suggest just running linux on it's own platform - why bother dual booting when it's own platform can be $30 these days ?)

---------------------------

the problem with freeBSD and linux: lack of drivers

the problem of wanting a smart phone without a big company who's had years of money to write smart libraries:

lack of smart

(i like my linux or freeware box better: however there are reasons i could not say it's "best for a wide audience". freeware tends to attract people who are paid to prevent freeware from blossoming)

, far superior to the old devices but I would like something more versatile, preferably capable of running Debian, and with a hardware keyboard.

Nuff said there.

PS. My Samsung s7 can run a 256 gig micro sd card. Can sync with my linux laptop many different ways. 2 things Iphone suck at.

Iphone is OK. I had one. But when I bought new ones. The wife got the Iphone 7 . I opted for the Samsung because I got tired of being locked out of my phone using linux.

Thank you!
The iPhone is probably the reason why there are no devices out there that I like. It is the absolute antithesis of what I want.
This Priv suffers badly from the Google but, at least, I have a hardware keyboard and some freedom to install as I wish.
