i'm using ReiserFS for all my partition under my Debian
but it's on /dev/hda
but i wanna move everything to /dev/sda
how do i do it?
since Ghost doesn't support for ReiserFS
i tried.. AcronisImage, but end up with f**k up my system
any suggestion?
you can maybe try systemimager, i was looking the docs and it does support reiserfs..
personally never tried it, but it seems to do what your asking for..
like mentioned above you can also use dd, and i was just browsing around and noticed partimage which looks like you can get done what you want with it... and quoted from the page
Quote:
Partition Image will only copy data from the used portions of the partition. For speed and efficiency, free blocks are not written to the image file. This is unlike the 'dd' command, which also copies empty blocks.
so you can be the judge on which you think will work best for you
i get it copied... but how do i make lilo runs back on my new hard disk?
i do /sbin/lilo -r /rootpartition (rootpartition is mounted for my new copied hard drive)
it doesn't work
it said No file or directory on /dev/sda
