problems with "su"

Recently, I have been fooling around with programming, and fuxing with adding and deleting things from binaries, well...i accidentaly deleted my su program, but luckily I had already backed it up in my home directory. When i replaced the file to its proper place (/bin/su) i could no longer enter root status from my normal user account. Whenever i typed su, then my password, it would always tell me that i have typed the incorrect password. What should I do?

Use sudo instead of su.

Check the /etc/sudoers file. If it doesn't exist, then you should create it:
touch /etc/sudoers

then you need to edit it:
visudo
