so what is the point of installing apt?
Then take a look for yum:

Livna RPM - http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/4/
Code:
[livna]
name=Livna Stable
baseurl=http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/$releasever/$basearch/RPMS.lvn/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
DAG repo - http://apt.sw.be/fedora/4/
Code:
[dag]
name=Dag RPM Repository for Fedora Core
baseurl=http://apt.sw.be/fedora/$releasever/en/$basearch/dag
gpgcheck=1
enabled=1
ATrpms - http://atrpms.net/dist/fc4/
Code:
[at-stable]
name=ATrpms for Fedora Core $releasever stable
baseurl=http://apt.atrpms.net/fedora/$releasever/en/$basearch/at-stable

[at-good]
name=ATrpms for Fedora Core $releasever stable
baseurl=http://apt.atrpms.net/fedora/$releasever/en/$basearch/at-good

[at-testing]
name=ATrpms for Fedora Core $releasever stable
baseurl=http://apt.atrpms.net/fedora/$releasever/en/$basearch/at-testing

[at-bleeding]
name=ATrpms for Fedora Core $releasever stable
baseurl=http://apt.atrpms.net/fedora/$releasever/en/$basearch/at-bleeding

Or if you want apt-get sources:

Livna RPM - http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/4/
Code:
# Livna RPMs
rpm http://rpm.livna.org/ fedora/4/i386 RPMS.lvn
DAG repo - http://apt.sw.be/fedora/4/
Code:
### Dag RPM Repository for Fedora Core
rpm http://apt.sw.be fedora/4/en/i386 dag
ATrpms - http://atrpms.net/dist/fc4/
Code:
# ATrpms for Fedora Core 4
# Possible sections: at-stable, at-good, at-testing, at-bleeding
rpm http://apt.atrpms.net fedora/4/en/i386 at-stable
# rpm-src http://apt.atrpms.net fedora/4/en/i386 at-good
# rpm-src http://apt.atrpms.net fedora/4/en/i386 at-testing
# rpm-src http://apt.atrpms.net fedora/4/en/i386 at-bleeding
In a few days all repos will have FC4 packages.

LATER EDIT: KDE-for-RedHat has set it's packages for FC4 too: http://apt.de.kde-redhat.org/apt/fedora/fedora/4/

Because these 2 threads are asking the exact same question, I have merged them.

Hi,
my question was precise and strict, If you asked me how to use apt on debian I ANSWER in 2 lines,
someone can give me how exactly can I use yum, ( don't say read Tons of docs) I know every thing is doced !!! so why the forums and list ???

MY question is :
I install the minimum ( of FC4, I used to do it with debian) on the HD, Yum is already is install, the 4 cd's are in my HD, ( another parttion say /dev/hda2), I installed in /dev/hda1) ,
Now how to configure the yum.conf or any other file, to tell to yum taht I want to complete my installation from my HD, not from internet!!!

for example in debian with apt, I do in /etc/apt/sources.list

deb file:///mountpoint1 sarge main sarge
deb file:///mountpoint2 sarge main sarge

mountpoint1,2,... contain the mount iso CD's

Something like this with yum ??
thank you for help
bela
