Gui not showing after install.

I installed suse and it does not boot to a gui. It boots to a grey screen with the suse lizard and the words "simply change". There is a small green box top left with the word "xconsole" in it.

Did I miss an option during the install? The version is 9.3 and I was hoping to see a gui.

I guess you missed the configure your monitor, resolution, and video card during install. You should probably try again and do that. Know your monitor physical size and horiz/vert Hz.

...or you forgot to install a desktop environment (KDE, Gnome, etc.). From your description I would guess the X server is running.

Good catch thegreatgatsby. I was misinformed. Anyhow, the fix in the other thread worked for me.
