Upgraded and bugfix versions (pae and non-pae) of MX-14 are now available from sources on the Download page.
Includes Xfce 4.12, improvements in design and function of MX Tools, new Sound Card selector, full Users Manual onboard and online, new theme and icon set, and much much more. See Features and Migration info on the MX Website (tab at top).
I am pretty new to this forum, but anyway, I too was very impressed with MX-14, very easy to install, and very stable, I have been using it for about 2 months now, well that is not very long, but never any problems. I would especially recommend it for someone wanting to try linux for the first time.
While I don't have MX installed, as a former MEPIS user I've been keeping an eye on things, and I have MX-14.4 on a flash drive for live sessions with home persistence. Very nice job by the community. Personally, I haven't been able to find a reason to run MX instead of Debian, but that's no knock on MX. LMDE looks like another nice Debian-based project, and I've been playing around with that one, too, but I think I'd go with the somewhat lesser-known MX over LMDE if I had to choose.
