Can not start vmware after upgrading to ubuntu 8.04

after upgrading to ubuntu 8.04 I can not start vmware,nothing in the menu anymore...

Have you upgraded the kernel too? In this case you have to reconfigure vmware using the script vmware-config.pl

I guess so,i automatic upgraded ubuntu 7.10 to 8.04 and how ,where do I use `vmware-config.pl` I could only find my vmware virtual windows and other virtual system in /var/lib/vmware server...

maybe you have to be root to run vmware-config.pl but I'm not sure because I don't know Ubuntu.
If you can't find vmware-config.pl type

 
whereis vmware-config.pl

to check the path of the command and execute it whit the complete path.
