Joystick went weird with update to Feisty...

I updated my Ubuntu Edgy to Feisty and now my Saitek X45 shows only 16 buttons and it seems to have even some problems too (hat switch or so is sending keypresses constantly) - it worked perfectly
with Ubuntu Edgy...Is there a way to do something since it is USB-HID device?

Another thing - is there a way to influence the weird assignments of POV hats on joysticks. Even with MS Precision Pro my POV hat gets axis assigned to it and I might prefer having buttons assigned to it.

Seems I am not the only one - there seems to be a general problem with 2.6.20 kernel
