Mandrake 9.0 shutdown problems

I'm wondering if somebody out there knows a heck of a lot about Mandrake 9.0? I'm getting the following output when I shutdown, and it hangs immediately after:

Unmounting NFS filesystems: Cannot MOUNTPROG RPC: RPC: Program not registered
umount2: Device or resource busy
umount: /net: device is busy

As per another thread, I was able to determine that there are 2 automount processes running, one of which is tying up the /net. If I kill this process manually, I can shutdown normally.

This is bothersome however, and I'd like for this to be terminated during shutdown, which obviously isn't happening. Does anybody know of which script or file I should examine in order to ensure that this automount process is properly terminated during shutdown? Thanks

Ok, for all people who don't have a network drive, here's a quick fix for the problem I described above.

Remove the following line from /etc/auto.master:

/net /etc/auto.net --timeout=60

That should fix the shutdown problems. Unfortunately, I think this will prevent automounting of the network drive... not too sure about that though...

Question me too

ok, I am having the same problem. Is there any way around this without modifying the file as you suggested? What if I need a networked drive connection later?

Appreciate your time.

My understanding is, the people at Mandrake Soft completely overhauled the supermount system, so I'm guessing it was a design flaw that caused this behaviour...

My best guess would be to either install mandrake 9.1 now, or update the supermount system from the nearest mirror. I'm not sure which files will correspond to the supermount part of mandrake though, but perhaps that's enough info to get you started at least...

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful
