Cannot get an IP Address on RHEL 5

I have just recently loaded RHEL 5 on an IBM HS-21 Blade Server and I can't get network connectivity. I show the lights blinking but not being recognized. Can anyone suggest some troubleshooting methods? What have / or am I doing wrong?

To help us to assist you, the results from the following commands would be useful:
Code:
/sbin/ifconfig
Code:
cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
Code:
/sbin/lsmod
Code:
cat /etc/modprobe.conf
If you are able, you can delete the irrelevant portions from longer outputs.

theNbomr provided some good advice. Also, and we'll know more with the output of ifconfig, but how do you know you don't have an IP?

Hola Travis!

Raleigh NC here as well!

good advice given so far so not much I can add upon.. But try running

system-config-network

select "DHCP" and the correct ethernet card, incase you have 2 in your PC, such as one onboard and one PCI...

Then after OK out and run:

service network restart

Hi!

Hopefully the person can run these commands so we can see what's going on. Likely pretty simple. Odd that, assuming it's DHCP, RHEL didn't pick that up. I haven't had that happen except with a non-DHCP network.

So are you Raleigh or Apex?

Could also be an unsupported network chip. I guess the output from
Code:
/sbin/lspci
 and/or
/sbin/lspci -v
might be useful.
