Asking anyone who will make a small program for free.
I know that most people probably won't do it for nothing, but I'm still going to try. Would anyone out there create a program that could send and recieve and write the data to a file that would go over a serial/parallel/USB/etc cable, possibly creating a network connection, without any dialling, dial tone, carrier detect, etc needs? And please stop looking at me like I'm crazy. I'm just a little pyscho, that's all.
Er, this is a Linux forum. Linux is renowned for all things free and open-sourced. There is probably already a program like this around. And if you're crazy enough to be thinking on these lines, I think you'll probably be crazy enough to get into Linux, like the rest of us.
First, I'm already using linux. The reason I came here is that I know of no other places to ask. I would do it myself, but I only have learnd a little VB and don't have time to learn another language. Maybe this thread should just be taken out back and shot.
He's just saying that that program or somethign approximating it really will probably exist somewhere already, maybe sourceforge or somewhere, just look around a bit.
There should be a little button on the bottom left of this post saying 'close thread'. That would do it. Oh, sorry if I sounded sarcastic - didn't mean it (had a bad day).
Tcl and Scripting programming languages can be a solution ..

actually only the moderators of the forum have access to close or reopen threads/posts... etc. Just a reminder for anyone thinking they can close their thread and it denies them, then they start asking questions.
