MX-15 Released

The new MX-15 is now available in 32 & 64 bit flavors. Based on Debian 8.2 with XFCE 4.12, fresh software and nifty tools. Great hardware utilization, especially for Broadcom WiFi.

I'm not affiliated with the project other than being a fan.

It's very unique in the tools it provides. The one I really find useful is snapshot. which allows you to create a bootable ISO from your installed system. It's better than the old remastersys or systemback and it's coupled with an efficient installer...

I can only second the above plaudits for antiX MX-15.

One very useful feature for those with the notoriously difficult Broadcom wifi chipsets is the automatic enabling of Broadcom drivers b43 and b44.

I have just installed MX-15 on a Samsung N220 netbook. The actual installation from a USB flash drive took about 11 minutes (plus extra time for filling in various information).

Anybody using old or low-powered hardware need look no further in my opinion.

A review of the previous MX-14.4 is here:

Hopefully, Arindam Sen will find time to do a review of MX-15 shortly.

LQ member dolphin_oracle has produced a short video on MX-15 and it is well worth a view:

My thanks to all involved in producing such an excellent lightweight Linux distro.
