Can't seem to add to group

I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I can not seem to add myself to a group. Is there a limit of how many groups you can be in? I am in two now, as shown by the command "groups" However, if I try adding myself to another, either through /etc/group or webmin, I don't show up in the third group when I run "groups" Any idea what is going on?

This is on Mandrake 9.1, if that matters.

You're welcome, any time I can help. You
may wish to know that there is a limit on
the number of groups to which a user can
belong. I think that for the 2.4.x series of
kernels the limit is 32. That may have
changed, b/c I know it did in 2.5.x.
