wireless card doesn't power up...

Using Slackware 10. (2.4.26 kernel)
A 3Com Etherlink III pcmcia card works.
If I insert a wireless card, and execute cardctl insert 0 , it seems to work and says that the slot has a 3.3 v card in it, "ready". That's the only time one of the LED's flicker briefly. And then it's all dark

Hardware (don't laugh) : HP Omnibook 800CT (P133, 32Mb ram, 1.5 Gb disk) with pcmcia/Cardbus slots.

I did have win98 running on it once to check it out and the wireless card worked fine with it, meaning there weren't any hardware problems... Now if only I could get linux to power it up..

What wireless card are you using? What drivers are you using with it?
