yahoo messenger server in pidgin

OK I continually have pore connection with yahoo through the default server in pidgin. scs.msg.yahoo.com

I ended up pining this and it redirects to cs112.msg.mud.yahoo.com which i'm guessing is just one of their servers or as the first one find the best connection and redirects.

So...

does anybody know what's going on with this general server for yahoo messanger or should I just stick with the redirected address I have now and forget about it?

I think everyone...

is having that problem, or at least alot of people. Ive seen posts about it everywhere, and ive experienced the problem myself on all the of my boxes. nobody seems to have an idea from what ive read as to the cause, and last I checked there wasnt anything on the pidgin site about it. Just keep an eye there I am sure they'll address it sometime soon

BTW... plugging in the address showed from ping actually is a lot more stable. I didn't have much time to really test it, but it never seemd to disconnect me.

Thanks, this seems to work better than the usual server for some reason. I haven't been able to connect in the past few days and couldn't understand why. Using this server seems to get everything working.

I believe the latest version of pidgin (released recently) has fixed the issue.
