Rep:
Where can I find a WMA to Mp3 (or Ogg) converter?
I know someone here has to have dealt with this issue, but all my searches lead nowhere. I have a portion of my music colection in the dreaded WMA format and need to convert the music so I can play it on my Zaurus. Can someone point me to a Linux based conversion utility that can get my music out of the proprietary wma format?
You can effectively 'convert' any media file that MPlayer can play (and there are lots) into a .wav file, from which you can encode as you wish. You probably can convert straight to mp3/ogg with MPlayer, but I've never played with it.
I thought Zaurus is LINUX based. You should be able to find any program (like mplayer) and compile the program for Zaurus. Oh well, that command will work too. Also you can use XMMS if you have the WMA and disk writer plugin installed.
I recommend (some program) You can follow the step-by-step guide on its web page to convert between ogg and mp3 or wma to mp3.
And I'd recommend you not posting spam and advertising. Thread reported. Also, "Dave", this thread had been closed for FIFTEEN YEARS before you reopened it. You may also want to work on your website, and put an address that actually exists on the "Contact" page.
Which might require packages not installed by default to be installed. You could probably use sox and other tools as well. Which might be moot if the input file is of an unsupported format. If everything is good to go, you could probably use a gui application like audacity for much of the same.
